You can discover the history of Angoulins sur Mer, from the discovery of a necropolis in 1876 on the cliffs of the Chirats which was unfortunately destroyed by the Ocean, through the Siege of La Rochelle in 1628 where the Cardinal of Richelieu established his quarters in the areas of the Pont de la Pierre, between Angoulins and Aytré, to finish by the abandonment of the salt marshes in 1956 which have become oyster marshes today.
